THIS IS A STORY ABOUT THE BALLANTYEN'S CHRISTCHURCH FIRE ON THE 18TH OF NOVEMBER 1946 I HAVE HIGHLIGHTED MY STORY BECAUSE IT IS MY EXPLANATION OF MY STORY AND IT TELL WHAT HAPPENED AND WAHT HAPPENED

BALLANTYEN'S  CHRISTCHURCH FIRE

ESTABLISHED ON THE MID AFTERNOON 3:35 PM 18 NOVEMBER 1946 WHEN THE FIRE BEGAN FEROCIOUSLY TURNING THE BUILDING APART INTO ASHES
A MAJOR FIRE DESTROYED A FAMOUS LARGE  DEPARTMENT  THAT AT MORE THAN 300 EMPLOYEES IN THE APARTMENT.

SOME EMPLOYEES WAS TOLD ABOUT THE FIRE BUT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF SMOKE OR FIRE ANYWHERE IN THE DEPARTMENT WHEN THE WORKER KEPT ON WORKING  AS THEY CONTINUED TO IGNORE THE FIRE ALARM. THE STAFF HAD NO FORMAL EVACUATION PLAN
SOME STAFF ON THE  LOWER GROUND FLOOR EVACUATED BUT STAFF ON OTHER SHOWROOMS ON THE GROUND FLOOR WERE ORDERED TO CARRY ON WITH THEIR WORK
THIS RESULTED IN THE MANAGEMENT NOT HAVING A GOOD EVACUATION PLAN SO IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN HALF AN HOUR,ENOUGH TIME TO EVACUATE THE WHOLE 1000 PEOPLE SEVERAL TIMES OVER.

THE DEPARTMENT ONLY HAD MANUAL FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AND THE STAFF WERE NOT TRAINED TO USE THEM. ALL THROUGHOUT THE DEPARTMENT THEY HAD FIRE DOORS OPENING BETWEEN THE BUILDINGS.KLAXONS WAS A COMPANY WHO PROVIDED AND INSTALLED FIRE EQUIPMENT DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR, WHICH MEANT THEY WERE NOT MAINTAINED.EACH DEPARTMENT HAD THEIR OWN EVACUATION PLAN.

THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT BY THE TIME OF 8 PM AS THE DEPARTMENT WAS A GUTTED SHELL  IT TOOK AS LONG AS FOUR DAYS TO DAMP THE HOT SPOTS DOWN AND DEMOLISH THE UNSAFE WALLS AND RECOVER THE BODIES.

A COMMISSIONED SOME TIME LATER DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE AND RESPONSE HAD BEEN THE BUILDING HAD NOT MEET THE FIRE REGULATIONS SO THOUGH IT HAD PASSED ITS LAST INSPECTION IT HAS BEEN NOTED THAT THE OFFICE EMPLOYEES WERE NOT EVACUATED BECAUSE THE STORE’S OWNER REQUIRED THAT IT WAS INSURED THAT THE EQUIPMENT TO BE STORED AWAY IN A FIREPROOF SAFE FIRST.

MY PERSUASIVE WRITING

TECHNOLOGY           ... Technology - Computers ...
Over the past few years technology has taken over society. My generation uses technology, more than adults and elders.

Technology has seen a massive  change happen over the last 15 or so years. My generation have been more addicted to technology for an extremely long time.

Media technology has made our lives different giving us the freedom to do work and learn also in the comfort of our homes. For example, I can do my work at home and others I work on at task can be doing the same at the same time. This means it has made communication easier and quicker. A document now takes a few seconds to reach anywhere in the world compared to regular mail which can take several days to reach its destination.

The creation, appearance and size of digital devices and internet communication has
become a main link in communicating with others. It has become an additive part of our life and it is everywhere and it is impossible to escape from. Teenagers all over the world are growing up in a world, like us, where we use the internet more often than we do with our PS4s to  communicate in everyday life.

The internet is fun, informative  such as our blogs and a great way of communicating with others. It's a tool  we use and we can learn about almost anything from. Sharing information through the  internet is easy, cheap and fast too. Teenagers have access to billions of websites containing information in the form of text, pictures and videos. For example, Facebook is clearly the main source of communication for teenagers today.  The others like Twitter Snap-chat are also some sites teenagers would use.

I KNOW THAT TECHNOLOGY WILL CONTINUE TO BE APART OF OUR LIVES NO MATTER HOW OR WHERE WE ARE.

Adventure Forest

Adventure Forest
Driving a very long distances going to a unknown place.
All I was thinking about was to get to somewhere where there's fresh air.
We  were still driving I was bored  because there was nothing to do except me lowering my hand in a bag of popcorn and chips.

Finally we made it , fresh air was a poun us as I leaped out of the truck my legs wobbled it was like my body was a jelly. I was balancing myself. My body suddenly froze I was wondering where my beloved family would be .
There was a cluster of noises coming from the inside of the pitch black forest of pine trees.
I was carefully step by step walking through the trees but then I saw a little bridge. As i was
Crossing the bridge my mind flash before my eyes there was rope, wood, zip lines and slides.  Then as I walked a little bit closer I seen my family.
I was tightly gripping  my arms around my family hugging them with all my might.

MAKING SPONGE CAKE

MAKING SPONGE CAKE
Step by step walking through the hallway of ice. suffering in the swisspers of the cold hallway making my way to room 1 .

The ingredients were prepared for us to bake a sponge cake.
There was creamy smooth eggs, soft flour,  and shimmering sugar.
We also needed a bowl, fork that shied like  a star,  a measuring cup that was as red as a tomato, and a cake tin that was as black as the night.

The first thing we did was to wash our hands in the cold water that gushed from the tap like a waterfall. Moments later  we had to
follow the instruction on paper.

After that we had to depart the yolk from the egg whites  and Within minutes  we had to mix with all our might it was a mission to whip the mixer over and over again i was the tired of mixing i almost fell into a deep dream of boredom  it  impossible to finish the job but there only one way to finish the job we needed to work as a team and as we were working as a team the egg was just stiff enough that it was finished .

At that very moment  there was another mountain that was stopping us. We had  mix harder and more faster than before but the job was complete again.

There  was one more mountain to climb. We had slowly transfer  the mixer in the cake tin turn the oven to bake and then the  fluffy and glossy mixer thrown sweet sponge  into the oven of eternal fire.
